Wee-Heeee!!!! Just 55 more days until F.A.R.M. SYSTEM: RAGE hits the book stores! To say that I am “unbelievably excited” would be a gross understatement. This sequel to F.A.R.M. SYSTEM (2022) has been three years in the making. Now, when I say “three years in the making” it doesn’t, literally, mean I physically worked on the book that long (that took me about 1 1/2 years). There’s quite a lot of “marketing time” these days by the publisher, and when you’re being published by a medium-sized publisher that specializes in Graphic Novels exclusively, there is also a very definitive schedule that one can often be constricted by.
Would I have liked this sequel to have hit the stores sooner? Yes, absolutely. I was, initially, shooting for 18 months after Book 1. But, by the time the sequel was “Green lighted” Top Shelf already had their publishing schedule fully booked through 2024 and most of 2025.
So, although I was bummed at the time, it’s all for the best. The added time allowed me to really polish the storyline and the art! I was immensely pleased with myself with my work on Book 1 but Book 2 is even better–particularly the coloring.
And we’re going with a little more luster on the paper for this book. I love a Matte finish on my comics but the coloring didn’t pop as much as it should have on Book 1.
To all of you who have supported my works in the past…THANK YOU!!! I hope you’ll take a flyer on the new book and hope you like it!
If FS:RAGE does do well enough I will be doing more stories. This world lends itself to endless storylines and I already have several mapped out. I may be entertaining doing the subsequent stories in a more traditional Monthly or Bi-Monthly comic book format, however. So stay tuned on that front. Simply put, I’m too impatient to wait years in-between my books now. It’s TORTUUURRRE!!!!!
